Pastor Doug's Thought for Today February 24

Good Morning,
I am in early this morning, I have a meeting downtown.  It looks like today will be a bit warmer.  We are in full scale Easter mode at Ashland.  I hope it will be a great Lenten Season for all.  I picked up more stuff for the room upstairs last evening.  We are trying to decide on lighting and ceiling beams, it is nice to be to a point where we can visualize it.  Carol still has a cough as do I but it is getting better.  We prayed in staff meeting for an epidemic of health in our community.  I hope you get out and enjoy the day!.

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (New International Version)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Today's Thought

This is a passage quoted often.  It is important to understand the context of this passage.  We often read into what we want to hear.  This was given to a select group of people that are in captivity, they have been exiled from their homes.  It is call to faithfulness and understanding that God is with them.  The plan is for better days and that part holds true for us as well.  Just a thought for today!
