Pastor Doug's Thought for Today April 28

Good Morning,
It is a chilly morning, but we were able to get out and put some miles behind us.  It looks like the entire week will be a bit cooler, but seasonal for sure.  Everything looks so nice since the rain.  Nature's water simply does a better job at sprucing things up.  We are moving ever so quickly to the month of May.  We have had the April showers and I am ready for the May flowers.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Philippians 2:5-8 (New International Version)

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

Today's Thought

Humility is a key characteristic of the followers of Christ.  Our human nature battles with Kingdom principles.  I find the thoughts of Holy Week stretching into today.  Do we want Jesus or do we want power and control.  The church is not a political movement we are an agent of transformation.  May we humbly follow the examples of our Lord.  Just a thought for today!
