Pastor Doug's Thought for Today January 5

Good Morning,

We have launched into a new year!  2026 has arrived, I look forward to a bright new year.  We spent New Years Eve in Como with the kids and celebrated our Christmas.  I ran for the first time on my new knee New Years Day and it felt good.  We were out and ran again this morning.  I am only running a quarter at a time, but we are making progress.  Carol and I will be taking a little time away in January.  It is time for sun and sand, time to reset for the new year.  Ashland is in good hands as we have the best staff anyone could ask for.  You will not even notice we are away.  Today, enjoy a beautiful day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Isaiah 1:16-17 (New International Version)

Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

Today's Thought

The gift of Jesus Christ in our life is being offered a clean slate everyday.  Jesus grants us a new beginning when we seek forgiveness and seek His goodness.  We are talking about love without strings.  Isaiah would concur.  We must learn to do right; seek justice and defend the oppressed.  We must take up cause of all those that need our love and grace.  Just a thought for today!
