Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 7/01

Good Morning,

June slipped into the night, and we welcome July.  We are at the midpoint of 2025, and it is moving at a ferocious pace.  The knee continues to improve, in fact the bandage came off this morning.  I am getting some steps in each day, increasing gradually.  My goal today is 7500 steps, trying to increase about 1000 steps a day.  I will probably plateau at 7,500 for a bit. We are about to the 4th of July and then Sunday we kick-off VBS with our big promo Sunday evening.  July is a fun month at Ashland, come and bring your friends for an engagement with the living God.  Have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Romans 12:3 (New International Version)
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Today's Thought

A distinct pitfall of humanity is our ego.  Humanity constantly battles to be the center of life.  Jesus invites us to step aside and allow him to be the center of life. Perspective changes everything. We were never the center of life, it was only in our own minds.  When we align with Jesus' life fills us with love and joy.   Just a thought for today!
