Pastor Doug's Thought for Today October 29

Good Morning!
Wednesday was a whirlwind.  Carol and I left St. Joseph at 4:45 and returned about 4:45 that evening.  In between we traveled 520 miles and celebrated our friend's life with friends and family.  I was honored to officiate at his service.  We caught up with friends we hadn't seen in 20 years.  We were back at Ashland for MidWeek@Ashland, a great meal and time to dive into faith.  Today we prepare for the service of Bill Hinde which will be at Ashland at 10:00am Friday.  Don't forget Saturday is Halloween and we will be passing out candy at Ashland.  Sunday is All Saints Day and we have 22 remembrances to light candles and honor.  Ashland is always a busy place.  The weather is great get outside and  I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

PS:  We are collecting candy for Trick or Treat @Ashland Saturday!

Today's Scripture

Romans 12:1           New International Version
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Today's Thought

Paul urges us to give ourselves to God.  A living sacrifice is giving ourselves over to the desires of God.  How can we be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God?  We do it by loving God fully and loving our neighbor as ourselves.  Just a thought for today!
