Pastor Doug's Thought for Today July 17

Good Morning,
Happy Friday!  I started out the day with a 5 mile run.  It was hot, humid, and just a tough run.  The up side is I am shedding some weight.  Tomorrow New G leaves from Ashland for tour.  The excitement in the air is palatable.  Tom and kids are back and hopefully getting some rest.  Ask them about camp on Sunday, it was a great week for them.  We have a BD to celebrate at Ashland this week, Ms Barb Bielby will be celebrating at Ashland a very special Birthday.  This Sunday we kick off the School Supply Drive, the bins are at the doors and we have school supply lists if you need some help with what items are needed.  Have a great weekend and as always connect with Ashland.

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Romans 1:16 (New International Version)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Today's Thought

Faith is not something to take pride in, nor is it something to be ashamed of.  The Gospel is "good news", it is a description of life in the Kingdom. Jesus lived it out and demonstrated what it looks like to live the life God desires for us.  We need to not only read the Gospel but to live the Gospel.  Just a thought for today!
