Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 19

Good Morning,

We celebrated Christmas with the staff at our house last night.  I am blessed with work with some wonderful people.  Today we say our earthly goodbyes to Karen Grace, we will miss her.  MDO is closing out the semester today, so lots of kids in the house.  Oh!  We have heat!  They were able to repair the furnace and it makes a huge difference.  Thank you Rick Akers for getting this done!  I hope you have a wonderful day and connect with Ashland this weekend!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Luke 1:76-78 (New International Version)

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

Today's Thought

John was destined to be a prophet.  He prepares the way for the Lord.  We may not be prophets, but we are to prepare the way for the Lord.  We do it by the way we live and how we treat those around us.  May the love and grace of Jesus be illuminated by all of us this Christmas season. Just a thought for today!
