Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 17

Good Morning,

Wednesday has arrived and we speed toward Christmas.  I hope you are enjoying the season.  Ashland went Christmas Caroling last night and it was magical!  We had a great turnout and enjoyed each other and the experience.  Thank you to Donna Wilson and to Hannah Delaney for putting the event together.  No MidWeek@Ashland tonight, we are on a break until January.  Carol and I were on the Parkway today.  A short walk as we rehab from multiple muscle issues.  It was good to be out.  I hope you have a wonderful day today!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Matthew 1:20-21 (New International Version)
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Today's Thought

We look toward Mary in the Christmas story, but we should appreciate the faith of Joseph as well.  Joseph is taking Mary as his wife when she is clearly pregnant and he is defiantly not the father.  It is Joseph's trust and faith in God that makes this into a beautiful story.  Thank Joseph for saying yes!  Just a thought for today!
