Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 8/21

Good Morning,

We watched the final 2 episodes of The Kingdom last night.  The series had a delayed start because of the Little League World Series and last night it started 30 minutes late.
That meant it was 10:30 before it ended.  That may not sound like a big deal but for someone that gets up at 5:15 every morning it is. It was a wonderful story of our KC Chiefs. We had a great walk this morning getting 3.5 miles at the best time in months.  Today is a big day at Ashland.  We celebrate the life of Dee Hatten, I image the church will be packed.  The cooler weather is around the corner; I think it will be welcomed with open arms.  I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Psalm 42:8 (New Living Translation)
But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.

Today's Thought

David opens up his heart in the Psalms.  It is powerful to see him with transparency.  The humanity of David is important to recognize.  David is far from perfect, but his love of God holds him and gives him hope.  The love of God is unfailing for us all.  To sing God's praise is to receive life.  Just a thought for today!
