Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 7/17

Good Morning,

We concluded VBS last night and we were blessed with many kids and volunteers.  We were extremely blessed with great weather and got everything in before the rain.  I had 3 inches of rain at the house.  Carol mentioned that KC had 5 inches which was the first indication to me that we might have had that much rain.  It is indeed a very wet July.  The kids returned from camp about 6:00 pm after a wild week at Central Methodist University.  They had a great experience.  New G leaves Saturday morning for tour from Ashland, then Gideons are in for the rest of the morning.  Carol and I will take Ingram back to Columbia Saturday afternoon and then back for worship Sunday morning.  Stay dry and I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Romans 1:16 (New International Version)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Today's Thought

The gospel is for everyone.  Paul tells us that it came first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. The Jews were recipients of the but when they didn't all embrace the Good News God extended it to everyone.  I hope we don't try to limit ourselves to certain people when we offer the Good News and remember that it is for everyone.   Just a thought for today!
