Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 8

Good Morning,

It is another chilly morning in St. Joseph.  We stayed in another day; Carol is much better but she is taking it easy.  We had a great day of worship followed by an awful day of football.  I am thankful for the success we have had and hope it will return one day soon.  Mizzou learned the lesson of playing second tier teams early and then playing good teams.  We thought we were better than we are. Congrats to my KU friends.  Christmas is coming, I hope you are preparing.  I am not taking about decorations and calendars, I am talking about preparing our hearts.  Take some time to be present this Christmas/Advent season.  Have a wonderful day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

John 14:6 (New International Version)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Today's Thought

We have heard Jesus is the "Bread of Life" and that "Jesus is the Light of Life"; Friday we heart that Jesus is the gate and today we hear that Jesus is the truth and life.  Jesus is offering us life.  Sunday we talked about detours and how Jesus is all about leading us home even when we take some wrong turns.  The truth keeps calling us home.  Keep your eyes upon Jesus and find your way home.  Just a thought for today!
