Pastor Doug's Thought for Today November 19

Good Morning,

It was a beautiful morning on the Parkway; it is cooler, but there was no breeze at all.  We have reached Wednesday and that means MidWeek@Ashland.  The guys have a great meal whipped up, I hope to see you at 5:00.  We are at the end of the semester,  No MidWeek next week and then the lighting on December 3 will bring the semester to an official end.  We are prepping to decorate the church for Christmas next week with the first Sunday in Advent being November 30.  Enjoy this weather for the real cold is coming.  I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Ashland is transitioning some ministry and because of that we will no longer employ Sue Abarr as Chaplain.  Sue has served well, but following Covid and the restrictions around home visits her job has changed and we will transition her duties to others.  I will assume all the visitation going forward and please continue to send your prayer requests to the office.  We thank Sue for her service to Ashland.

Today's Scripture

Psalms 1–41
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Today's Thought

We are to meet people where they are but not to do the things they do there.  Loving people isn't about joining in wicked activity, but showing folks another way of living.  I hope we always go into the world with the message of Jesus offering more.  Just a thought for today!
