Pastor Doug's Thought for Today February 19

Good Morning,
We are officially into Lent.  We were able to engage more people with ash on Ash Wednesday this year than any other Ash Wednesday since I have been at Ashland.  I am praying for a transformation for us all during Lent.  May our hearts be changed and may our presence change the hearts of those around us to love as Jesus.  Will you make room of Jesus?  It is official Tom Keller is seeking ordination as a Deacon.  Tom plans to stay at Ashland, this will expand his ability to serve.  Carol and I seem to be headed toward health.  Thanks for your prayers and support. Have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

1 John 4:11-12 (New International Version)

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Today's Thought

What a powerful verse and important instruction.  We are to love each other.  How can our culture spew such hate and division and claim to love Jesus?  I hope during Lent we can all do some serious introspection.  May we open our hearts and love like Jesus.  May we find an ability to love everyone and be known for that love.  Just a thought for today!
