Pastor Doug's Thought for Today February 4

Good Morning,

Election Day came and went without much fanfare.  I hope you participated and plan to continue making your vote count.  It seemed the turn out was very low yesterday.  The day doesn't seem to hold much warmth, but certainly not the arctic temperatures we have endured.  Tonight we have MidWeek@Ashland, I hope you will join us for dinner.   Have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Psalm 18:1-2 (New International Version)

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:
I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Today's Thought

The life of David is complicated story.  David's life is a rollercoaster of ups and downs with God.  The beauty of the story is God's faithfulness and David's genuine desire to repent and turn to God.  God never deserts David, even when David has turned his back on God.  I find great comfort in knowing that God is always there for me.  Just a thought for today!
