Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 29

Good Morning,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  Thanks to all the shared Christmas at Ashland, it was wonderful.  We spent Christmas Day with our youngest and his family.  We will have our big family Christmas this week. The life of a paster doesn't lend itself to extra time on Christmas itself.  I was able to spend some time with mom and dad and they are doing well.  It is another short week, we will be out of the office from noon on Wednesday until Sunday morning.  We will check the phones so we are always able to respond if you need us.  It is a cold one today, stay warm!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

John 14:1-3 (New International Version)

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Today's Thought

I have read this often in the last month.  I find great comfort in it.  Jesus has prepared a place for us, a wonderful place.  It is still very hard for those left behind, but I hope we can take comfort in knowing. our loved ones are in a place prepared by Jesus himself for them.  May God's comfort be with us all. Just a thought for today!
