Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 22

Good Morning,

We are days away from Christmas!  Tomorrow we celebrate Christmas Eve Eve to kick off the celebration!  This weekend we had the New G Concert Saturday evening and then a great day of worship.  We watched and cheered for our Chiefs.  This is clearly not our year.  Coach Reid said the backup QB is now Travis Kelce.  He was a HS QB, but what a toll this season has taken on our guys.  I hope you are enjoying this week and all that goes with it.  I pray for the Spirit of Christmas to rest with us.

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Luke 2:8-11 (New International Version)

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Today's Thought

Christmas brings us good news!  I talked about the peace of Christmas Sunday.  It is challenging even as a pastor to embrace the peace of Christmas.  I have to intentionally focus on the good news, not what needs to be accomplished.  Remember this is Good News for all people!  Just a thought for today!
