Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 4

Good Morning,

The temperature plummeted last night.  We found out late in the afternoon the furnace that heats G11-G14 which is Garden, Lighthouse, and Discovery needs a new heat exchanger.  Sounds simple right?  Well it is not.  They have to locate one, have it shipped, and then several hours to install.  This is one of the gigantic roof units.  We will be redistributing folks on Sunday. Carol is better, not perfect but moving in the right direction.  Karl Sundell's funeral will be next Thursday at Ashland.  Tomorrow we host Joan Euler's service at 1:00 and then I am off to officiate Cheryl Portman Grayson's service at 3:00.  Please keep these families in your prayers.  Stay warm and know warmer weather is coming back for us to enjoy.

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

John 8:12 (New International Version)

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Today's Thought

We heard Wednesday that Jesus is the bread of life.  Today we hear that Jesus is the light of the world.  Christmas illuminates this message.  We celebrate the birth of Christ basking in the lights of Christmas everywhere.  The light is to remind us of the light of Jesus that rescues us from darkness.  Just a thought for today!
