Pastor Doug's Thought for Today December 3

Good Morning,

We have a brief warmup this morning however we are to set record lows tonight.  I am sorry to share with you this morning that Carl Sundell and Karen Grace have both gone home to their eternal rest.  They will be missed.  Friday we say our earthly goodbyes to Joan Euler and to Cheryl Portman Grayson.  Please keep all these families in your prayers.  Tonight is a big night at Ashland, we will light Ashland tonight at 5:45.  Dinner catered by 7th Street will be at 5:00, we think we have plenty but come early to assure yourself a meal.  Be careful today it will be slick and it is getting colder toward evening,.

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

John 6:35 (New International Version)

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Today's Thought

What sustains us?  We need connection.  We are not created to live in isolation.  Jesus assures us that he will be there always sustaining us when we are faltering.  Communion reminds us of this connection offered through Jesus to never go hungry and never thirst.   Just a thought for today!
