Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 5/09

Good Morning,

The flower sale was really fun.  We do have flower remaining and they are downstairs, you are welcome to come any time this morning and purchase some and they will be available Sunday morning.  They are $6.00 per plant.  Mother's Day weekend is almost here.  We are making our way to KC to take my mom out tomorrow.  Today I will try to get the yard mowed, last night was filled so today is the day.  This morning is  the MDO Spring Music Program.  The church will be filled with kids and families.  You can livestream us through the new app.  The weather is perfect so enjoy this beautiful day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Romans 8:1-2 (New International Version)
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Today's Thought

The Catholic Church elected a new Pope yesterday.  The first ever US Pope has been elected and appears to be a wonderful selection.  I thought of Pope Leo as I read our verses for today.  He has lived a life of service to the poor and disenfranchised.  He has lived out the understanding of no condemnation for those in Christ no matter their station in life.  I appreciate the heart of one who serves all God's people.  Just a thought for today!
