Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 5/08

Good Morning,

Today is flower day!  Door will open at 3:00 so come and get your flowers!  If you didn't order, we will have extra so come and get them! Carol and I made a trip to the farm store last night to get tomato cages and a cattle panel.  The cattle panel is an arch for cucumbers, something new we are trying. Mother's Day weekend is this weekend, bring your mom to church!  Tomorrow is MDO Spring Music Program.  The church will be filled with kids and families.  You can livestream us through the new app.  The weather is perfect so enjoy this beautiful day!

Blessings, Doug

PS:  Flowers arrive today, sale starts at 3:00 pm

Today's Scripture

Colossians 4:5-6 (New International Version)
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Today's Thought

People will understand the church by the way church people act.  We don't get a pass, every action is observed, and Jesus gets interpreted through us. I know this is big challenge and we will make mistakes, but we should strive to live a life that reflects Jesus.  The biggest challenge the church faces today is people that are mean and judgmental parading around calling themselves Christian.  I want Ashland to be known as the most loving church ins St. Joseph! Just a thought for today!

I agree many Christians are mean, cruel, and unkind.

nI do not care to be with these Christians. Some attend Ashland.
