Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 5/07

Good Morning,

Welcome to Wednesday and the middle of the week.  Today is Son-Shine Storytime, the last of the semester.  This is such a great opportunity for our littles to learn about Jesus.  Youth Group meets tonight to recap a great Youth Sunday and finalize plans for the summer.  The flowers come tomorrow and the doors open at 3:00.  Jim Clayton has worked very hard to assure everyone they get the colors they want.  Thank you, Jim, for your hard work.  The rain is coming but this morning the weather is perfect so enjoy this beautiful day!

Blessings, Doug

PS:  Flowers arrive this Thursday, sale starts at 3:00 pm             We have lots of flowers still!

Today's Scripture

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (New International Version)
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Today's Thought

We all have days that the last thing we want to do is rejoice.  We are reminded that if we want to change our attitude rejoicing is the very thing we need to do.  When we pray and rejoice God lifts us up and we feel better.  It may not change the circumstance, but it changes our attitude. I hope we can all pray and rejoice and be renewed in the gift of God's blessing.  The rain is coming so get out and enjoy the day early.  May your day be transformed by prayer and rejoicing.  Just a thought for today!
