Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 5/02

Good Morning,

Happy Friday!  We have had some sprinkles this morning but nothing to speak of.  I have been walking about 2.5 miles a day this week.  It began when Carol and I were in Las Vegas, and I was walking a lot every day, and my knee was better.  I know that makes no sense.  Anyway, walking has been helpful and until it creates a problem or I get a permanent fix I will continue.  I got the yard mowed last night; it was very tall.  If the weather holds today, I can get things trimmed up.  Tomorrow is flower day, so off to the nursery.  Carol is loving the new stove, and she whipped up something wonderful for dinner last night to try it out.  I hope you remember this is Youth Sunday and it will be a great day please connect with us!  Have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

PS:  Order your flowers today!! Order your flowers today!! Order your flowers today!!                                                            We have lots of flowers still!

Today's Scripture

1 John 5:14-15 (New International Version)
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Today's Thought

Do you pray?  We are assured in this passage that God hears our prayers.  I think it is important to remember another element of this passage.  Do you pray and make requests that align with God's will?  God isn't a Genie in a Bottle, a magician ready to do our bidding.  God wants a relationship with us.  God wants us to enter into conversations that shape our life in the image of God.  Think about how our requests of God align with this desire of God.  Just a thought for today!
