Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 4/28

Good Morning, Carol and I took a little trip last week, it was a nice break. We were back for Sunday and kicked off our new sermon series, "Everybody Needs a Little Jesus". I look forward to seeing pictures of you and your little Jesus around the community. Sunday we had a fire alarm issue. We tried all we knew but could not get it to stop going off. I am thankful our alarm person was in town and disabled the alarm until he can make repairs. This is the final week of April and the May flowers are headed our way. There is time for you to get your order in, so get them ordered today. Be careful storms are in the forecast. Have a great day! Blessings, Doug PS: Order your flowers today!! Order your flowers today!! Order your flowers today!! We have lots of flowers still! |
Today's Scripture
Philippians 2:5-8 (New International Version)
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

Today's Thought
I struggle with people who claim Christ but also claim privilege. Jesus never placed himself to be better than others. Jesus was a servant that cared for the orphan and the refugee. The humility of Jesus is the trademark of Christ. Our culture is in need of a heart transplant. It is time to replace judgement with grace. It is time to lead with love for others. A little Jesus is the transformation of heart for us all. Just a thought for today! |

We were able to view your new sermon series about an hour after you delivered it and just before our bedtime in Nurenberg, Germany. Don't believe we will be able to download the new app until we get back. Missed your blogs last week so assumed you were out of town.
