Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 4/16

Good Morning,

It is a very nice morning in St. Joseph.  I started the day with DuVall getting my irrigation going for the year.  I love green grass. We spent a great night at SJSD Foundation Banquet at MWSU honoring educators in our District. I was so proud of our own Brooke Rich on her award of the Ruby Kate Wells Memorial Field Trip Grant.  We have a great school district and we need to be more supportive of them.  Today marks the day Judas became the betrayer selling out to give up Jesus.  Today is also Son Shine Story time so lots of littles at Ashland.  I hope you have a great day and enjoy the wonderful weather!

Blessings, Doug

PS: Order your flowers today!!  We have lots of flowers still!

Today's Scripture

Romans 13:8 (New International Version)
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Today's Thought

The Bishop at my last meeting with him said his goal is to have our United Methodist Churches known as the most loving in every community.  I concur with the plan to carry this out.  We have several churches in our community that spew hate at every opportunity in the name of Jesus.  Sorry this hate is cultural, not scriptural.  There is no room for this in the body of Christ. I think the saying, "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" goes a long way in moving this direction.  We have a debt to Jesus to love one another and that has no exception.    Just a thought for today!
