Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 4/14

Good Morning,

Palm Sunday is behind us and we are into Holy Week.  This is a busy time in the life of Christians and certainly the church.  I hope you plan to connect with us Thursday and Friday as we prepare for Easter.  What a weekend!  We went through my parents home and brought mementos home.  It was difficult, but I am blessed by a sister that did the hard lifting.  Saturday I was able to install the new dishwasher.  it went well, only one trip to Lowes.  My next task in the new gas stove, however it will have to wait until after Easter.  My friends may the Holy Spirit guide and support you through this week.

Blessings, Doug

PS:  Order your flowers today!!  We have lots of flowers still!

Today's Scripture

1 Corinthians 15:1, 3-4 (New International Version)
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.

Today's Thought

Paul is writing this post resurrection.  However, I want us to hear it in the light of Holy Week. Jesus is cheered and at the height of public opinion as he enters Jerusalem.  I can hear him to saying himself what Paul later says.  I would think going through is mind is the thought; will you still cheer me in light of the gospel.  We are a fickle people.  The cheers were so quickly silenced and turned into a mob assault.  This week hold tight to the greatest commandment.  We must love God and we must love our neighbor.  Just a thought for today!
