Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 4/10

Good Morning,

We are past the middle of the week, and we can see the weekend.  I have several projects that I hope to accomplish, but time will tell.  We had folks everywhere at Ashland yesterday.  We had the HVAC folks resetting a unite, a plumber capping a leaking pipe, and Keven Akers placed the plaques to honor the playground donors.  MidWeek@Ashland is on break until fall, but the youth were here and preparing for youth Sunday.  Carol and I are still adjusting to life without pets.  Don't misunderstand me, we absolutely don't want new ones, but it is odd without them.  Carol is talking about gardening today, but it is still early.  My friends I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

PS:  The Women of Faith will have lunch together at LePeep this Saturday at 11:30.

Today's Scripture

Romans 5:6-8 (New International Version) You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Today's Thought

I think it is important to realize as we read this passage, we are the ungodly.  Christ died for us to do what we could not do on our own.  This demonstration should alter our lives!  God is offering us a new beginning.  What would you do for someone that literally died for you?  I hope we don't gloss over what has happened.  Grace is given, but a response should follow.   Just a thought for today!
