Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 3/21

Good Morning!
Carol is in CoMo with the grands. She will have a busy few days. This is my first time without Maggie when Carol is away. It is strange to say the least. It is however not strange enough to want another dog. I worked in the yard last night before watching a terrible basketball game. The loss to Drake is beyond words. I think my interest just went out the window for March Madness. Last year we clearly were not in it, but this year we gave it away. I need to be doing things beside parking in front of the TV anyway. I hope you have a great weekend and as always please connect with Ashland.
Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Jeremiah 17:7-8
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Today's Thought

I love the imagery of this passage. We know the need for water and a tree planted near water will root out toward the water. It is not dependent on rain because it has a steady source of hydration. When we are near the Lord, when we are practicing discipleship we can stand the test of the world around us. We are nourished by God. Just a thought for today!
