Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 2/10

Good Morning,

The snow is ready to fall again. We shall see how this plays itself out. MidWeek@Ashland is on weather alert. We will keep you posted. The Super Bowl wasn't what we wanted. No team has ever won 3 straight Super Bowls, and this wasn't to be for the Chiefs. It has been a great year and a great run these last few years. I don't think this team is ready to fade away, we shall see what next year holds. A busy week ahead. I hope you have a great week!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (New International Version)
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Today's Thought

This passage is often read at weddings but wasn't written with marriage in mind. This passage speaks to our heart. Do we have love in our heart, real love? This is the love described in the greatest commandment. Do we love God with our whole heart? Do we love our neighbor as ourselves? It seems a lot of loveless things are happening lately. Stand firm in faith and love. Just a thought for today!
