Pastor Doug's Thought for Today November 13

Good Morning,

A great morning in St. Joseph.  This is a great community with so much to offer!  The Parkway is a treasure.  We tried to see the Northern Lights last night to no avail.  We made multiple trips, but simply nothing.  I am glad for all the folks that had the experience of seeing the light and color.  I am surprised at how many Christmas lights I am seeing already and the lights being lit.  I love it, but Thanksgiving is my tipping point, until then I will wait to light them.  The weather continues to be exceptional.  I I hope you have a great day and enjoy this prolonged summer/fall.

Blessings, Doug

We have pictures from the 50+ outing to the Cronkite Museum available in the office if you would like a copy.

Today's Scripture

1 Peter 2:15-16 (New International Version)
For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

Today's Thought

The early church overcame the Romans by their good works.  They were amazed by how the followers of Jesus did good even amidst the persecution. They cared for each other and offered love to all.  There is a lesson in all that.  The way to draw others into the Kingdom is by demonstrating what we are for, not railing against what we oppose.  Be a loving grace filled follower of Jesus Christ.  Just a thought for today!
