Pastor Doug's Thought For Today October 1

Good Morning,
The temperature is going up; it was a much warmer morning on the Parkway. We got our miles in and are set for the day.  Carol and I painted until dark last night, we are making headway for sure.  Today I have meetings all day.  I begin on Zoom until noon then off to KC for the afternoon. My plan is to see my mom in the hospital while I am in KC.  They are running tests today so hopefully we will know more by the end of the week.  Thanks for your prayers.  Get out and enjoy this beautiful day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Matthew 5:11-12 (New International Version)
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Today's Thought

I want us to be attentive to today's scripture.  The verse is directed toward religious persecution.  This is present in our world, but not so much in the United States.  I have never been persecuted for my faith.  I may have had a snide remark or two, but we need to think outside of ourselves and pray for and remember those that are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus.  Jesus will be with us in difficult times and we are never alone, but keep the verse in context.  Just a thought for today!
