Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 9/29

Good Morning,
I have been offline for a week.  Carol and I took a few days to visit family at Lake Geneva.  The weather was great, and we were able to have some lake time.  Thanks to Steve and Judy Guy for the hospitality.  We had an outstanding St. Joseph Marathon this weekend.  Carol ran with Kate Esely and I helped out along the way.  Ashland showed out strong on and off the course. Thanks for the help! We also had Emma with us this weekend.  She even made it to church. I had a great football weekend!  My Tigers won on Homecoming and the Chiefs looked like days of old.  Both very nice wins.  I have completed one side of the house painting, the most difficult side.  I will do a little clean up and trim tonight and move to the north. Carol and I got back to our routine of 3.5 miles this morning. Enjoy these dog days of summer.

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

John 3:20-21 (New International Version)
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Today's Thought

Do good and live in the light.  There is a reason they call them "shady characters".  People try to hide their actions when they are doing things they shouldn't.  If you don't want someone to see you do it maybe, you should not do it?  Be the hands and feet of Christ today and you will be living in the light.  Just a thought for today!
