Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 9/18

Good Morning,
We are getting some much-needed rain today.  It put an end to walking, so we slept a bit longer.  We are scraping and painting the house so probably will delay that a day.  I would like to paint the east side this weekend, but a bit more prep work.  We are home this weekend which is very nice.  We seem to put a lot of miles behind us. I hope you enjoy this rainy day!

Blessings, Doug

Today's Scripture

Philippians 2:3-4 (New International Version)
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Today's Thought

Why do we do what we do?  This is an important question we must ask ourselves.  We can do lots of good stuff, but the why defines what it means for us.  The desire of a follower of Jesus is to serve others.  We do it to make a difference, to help them.  Selfish ambition and vain conceit are not characteristics of one who follows Jesus.   Just a thought for today!
