Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 9/4

Good Morning,
The last couple days have been United Way intensive.  I had meetings and then this morning we kicked off the 2025 Campaign.  The numbers are exciting we are starting off near the million-dollar mark.  I missed Mid-Week, but thankful this church moves even when I am unavailable.  The folks are hard at work constructing things at Ashland.  We will see a huge difference by this weekend.  Don't forget Chiefs tomorrow and the Tigers take on KU Saturday in Columbia.  We will head out early Saturday morning.  I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

I have a couple of extra tickets for Ignite Saturday night.  The fun begins at 5:30 on the rooftop of the Downtown Parking Garage.  Contact me if you are interested.

Today's Scripture

2 Timothy 1:13-14 (New International Version)
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

Today's Thought

Guard the sound teaching with faith and love.  The Holy Spirit is ready, willing, and able to be our strength.  Paul spends a lot of time trying to keep people focused on Jesus.  There will always be folks that want to turn to legalism, inserting their thoughts for Christ's heart.  Ask yourself, is it good news, it is loving, is it filled with grace?  If the answer to any of these is no reach back and hear the words Paul offers.  Just a thought for today!
