Pastor Doug's Thought For Today 9/3

Good Morning,
September is rolling along.  We were out early on the Parkway, it was beautiful this morning and we saw a doe and two fawns.  What a bonus!  These short weeks really pack a lot into a few days.  Today is the first day since Hannah started that I get to spend some time with her.  She is a quick learner and by month end she will be fully engaged. This is the season of Charge Conference forms.  We are in good shape but have to finish them up by the weekend. Don't forget the Chiefs kick this Friday night!   I hope you have a great day!

Blessings, Doug

I have a couple of extra tickets for Ignite Saturday night.  The fun begins at 5:30 on the rooftop of the Downtown Parking Garage.  Contact me if you are interested.

Today's Scripture

Isaiah 48:17 (New International Version)
This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.

Today's Thought

Isaish is a prophet, and his job isn't an easy on.  He is to bring a hard word to Israel about repentance. A true prophet never chooses to be a prophet because they tell folks things they don't want to hear.  This morning's verse is very affirming, but it comes with the message of repentance, basically they have not been listening and following God's direction.  We can know that God is our Redeemer, God is Holy and God has a desire to teach us what is best and direct our way.  The question for us is what we do with the message.  Just a thought for today!
