Congregational Care are ministries in which we show our Ashland family we care for them in their time of need. Praying for and with one another, visiting the homebound, wishing each other a Happy Birthday!...they are all ways of sharing Christ's love. Here are some of the ministry opportunities in the area of congregational care:
Home-Delivered Worship DVD's - Our services are video recorded for our homebound and those not able to come to us. Help take church to them; an appreciated and rewarding ministry.
Van Driver - Ashland operates a pick-up service for Ashland members who can't drive themself to church on Sunday mornings. We ask van drivers commit to driving an entire month. Good driving record and background check required.
Condolence Dinner Host - Help prepare a dish, help serve, or organize for families that are dealingwith grief at the loss of a loved one.
Prayer Ministries - Join our prayer warriors. You can be notified by email or by phone when a prayer request is made known to us. When someone is need, your prayrers may be their lifeline.
Small Group Ministries - Much of our congregational care takes place in the context of a small group. It is in small groups of trusted friends that a person feels comfortable enough to share about their needs, whether it is a specific prayer request, a need for meals or baby supplies, or just the need of a kind and listening ear. These small groups happen Sunday mornings and throughout the week in Bible Study or in discussion groups. For this season, all are encouraged to find their small group home.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, contact our Chaplain, Sue Abarr, unless otherwise noted.
